Ben´s Top Fighters - Interactive Karate training for kids
The Game-Demo-Video for Ben's Top Fighters was originally realised as a semester project in Digital Media (Animation and Game) at Hochschule Darmstadt.
Ben's Top Fighters should be a game for Xbox 360 and Kinect that teaches primary school children first steps in Shotokan Karate with help of a virtual coach (Ben).
Based on our first concept we are now thinking of a game that includes basis knowledge of Karate and further martial arts styles (such as Taekwondo, Kickboxing, Kung Fu).

Emma inherited a grocery store from their parents in a small English town. At first the business was very well and she had a lot of customers. One day she met there the young man Edward, who´s a jewel thief and is on the run. Ignorant of his past, she married him. But shortly after the wedding Emma's husband died and she is alone on her own again. A few years later, large supermarkets and discount stores dominated the market. Now the old lady has become less and less customers and one day she is bankrupt. But Emma accidentally discovered in the frame of her wedding image a key as a secret address..

This animated short film was part of our bachelor thesis.

Named after its main character the shortfilm is about Kwendolin - a little clown who has been imprisoned his entire life by the malicious and greedy ringmaster Cappello in his circus - a strange world. Kwendolin is longing for the big city and everytime he looks at it from the distance out of his trailer window his curiosity and the aspiration grows. On night a heavy blast shatters the rusty old padlock of his prison what gives him the opportunity to escape. Carefully he takes the chance, tiptoes out of the „World of Fun“ and confidently he starts his travel to „Capital City“.

After 6 months of hard work and a budget of 500 Euro we finished our work. The film will be sent to several festivals.
Ways of Fate was represented on the short film competition at Photokina in Cologne and reached the first place. (read more)
Ways of Fate was nominated for the Camgaroo Award 2008 in Munich (30.10.08).
